Transferring Your Website

We highlight the steps of transferring your website to another organisation or person after design is complete.

The Process

This guide outlines the process for transferring a website (Wix only) upon completion, distinguishing between:
1. Handover after initial design (for one-time design clients).
2. Handover within a billing period (for clients whose websites are managed under a subscription plan).

1. Handover After Initial Design

Once we have completed your website, it will remain in draft state until it is transferred to you. In this state, the website will exclude social media connections, domain settings, and any premium features that require a paid subscription.

Steps for Handover:
1. You will need to create a Wix account (if you don’t already have one). You can do this while we are busy with your design.
2. Fill out the website transfer form using your Wix details: daubern.co.uk/website-transfer
3. We will initiate the transfer, and you will receive an invitation to accept the website.
4. Once you accept the website, you can:
* Choose and activate a Wix subscription plan.
* Enable and set up premium features, such as custom domains, social media integrations, and third-party apps and code. We will have linked any features that are available during setup already.
* Hire us as a collaborator if you need assistance with setup of premium features, edits, or future modifications.

Important Notes & Liability Considerations:
* Ownership & Responsibility: After the transfer, you assume full responsibility for the website, including its maintenance, security, and ongoing costs.
* Subscription Plan Disclaimer: Wix subscription plans and features may change over time. It is your responsibility to review and choose the most suitable plan or speak to us for advice.
* Third-Party Integrations: Your website excludes external integrations (e.g., google analytics tools, Analytics 4, custom code snippets in headers and body), you will need to configure them after transfer or this will be done for you once you invite us as a collaborator if you have opted for this service.
* Design IP: As per out terms and conditions, we retain a draft copy of your website for our own reference and marketing use, this is not available to the client.
* Post-Transfer Support: We offer limited guidance in accordance with the initial proposal provided to you after the transfer. For further assistance, you can hire us as a collaborator for ongoing support.
* We may retain original files and sources used in the design of your website but are not obligated to do so.

2. Handover Within a Billing Period (If We Manage Your Website)

If your website is under our management and you pay a monthly, yearly, or two-yearly subscription fee, you can request a transfer at any time within your billing period, provided all invoices have been paid in full.

Steps for Handover:
1. Request a scheduled transfer date to minimise downtime.
2. On the scheduled day, we will delink our Wix Partner subscription in order for transfer, placing your website into draft state.
3. You will receive an invitation to accept the website transfer.
4. Once accepted, you should:
* Select and activate a new Wix subscription plan.
* Reconfigure premium features, including linking your domain back in your own Wix account, adding custom code snippets (if any) and any other premium features which may vary from plan to plan.
* Reconfigure tracking, apps and services where an app specific account is required: Where any account or app that uses Daubern Business Solutions Ltd login accounts and not the clients, you should create your own accounts and link these back. For example, Google Business Profile, social media accounts (with the exception of FaceBook which will already be the client's account), Google Search Consonsole, All Ads accounts.
* Hire us as a collaborator for setup, edits, or ongoing support.

What Happens When We Delink Our Subscription?
* Your website will go offline until you activate a new subscription and link your domain in your own account.
* All premium features including but not limited to domain connections will not work until a premium plan equivalent or above is linked.
* The website will be delinked from Daubern Business Solutions Ltd accounts as mentioned above.
* Custom code specifically designed on your website UX will remain intact.
* Custom code snippets added externally will be provided separately for you to re-add in settings. Specialised code used by Daubern Business Solutions Ltd to monitor and manage your website will be removed including but not limited to code for sending our monthly analytics reports to you or tracking domain performance and;
* All other backend linkages to Daubern Business Solutions Ltd accounts will be removed and/or deleted.

Important Notes & Liability Considerations:
* No Partial Refunds: If you request a transfer before your billing cycle ends, no partial refunds will be issued. We suggest you use up your free edits and content changes included in your yearly website management fee. All other aspects that have been invoiced under website management for this period will also been completed.
* Website Downtime: Your website will be offline from the moment we delink our subscription until you activate a new plan. We recommend scheduling the transfer at a time that minimises disruption.
* Client Responsibility: Once the transfer is complete, you are responsible for maintaining the website, managing subscription payments, and setting up necessary features that will be delinked due to the transfer.
* Subscription Plan Disclaimer: If your website was on a Wix Partner plan through Daubern Business Solutions Ltd or on a discontinued legacy plan, you may have received a discounted rate through us. New Wix plans available may differ in features and pricing. Once your subscription is transferred, the previous plan and pricing cannot be reinstated.
* Design IP: As per out terms and conditions, we retain a draft copy of your website for our own reference and marketing use, this is not available to the client at any time.
* Post-Transfer Support: If you require assistance after the transfer, you can hire us as a collaborator for setup and ongoing support.
* We may retain original files and sources used in the design of your website but are not obligated to do so. All these files will be available in the media included in your website.
